. Grate ginger (scrape or peel the skin off first) or cut ginger in small pieces
. Put the ginger with some water in a blender and blend

. Cut about ½ of a lemon, slice it with the skin and put in the pot with ginger and water
. Boil for about 5 – 8 minutes
. Let it settle for a few minutes
. Add a spoon of honey to a cup of the preparation and drink
. Drink a cup in the morning and one in the evening if sick.

COVID-19: WAYS TO STRENGTHEN YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM

• Vitamin C
• Vitamin D
• Zinc
• Glutathione
Glutathione is made up of three amino acids and is another anti-oxidant that is required by the immune system. While spinach, avocados, asparagus and okra are rich in dietary glutathione, absorption by the body is poor. Supplementing glutathione levels in the body provides many health benefits including: antioxidant protection against free-radicals, detoxification, energy production and defence against aging. Taking glutathione and Vitamin D increases the bioavailability of Vitamin D and lowers inflammation. Some illnesses decrease glutathione levels in the body including AIDS/HIV, Parkinson’s Disease, Diabetes, Hepatitis, Cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, liver disease, sickle cell anemia, stroke, heart disease and infertility. CoreMedScience provides more information here.|
I use Trizomal Glutathione (1 tsp in the morning) and take it with Vitamin C to increase its effectiveness.
. L-Lysine
Lysine is an essential amino acid and a building block for proteins. Our bodies don’t produce lysine so we need to get it from food or supplements. One of the uses of L-Lysine is for cold sores, which is a herpes virus that remains dormant in our bodies until we are under a lot of stress and then we break out with a cold sore. For this reason it is important to minimize stress during the CoVid-19 pandemic. Important NOT to take L-Lysine with calcium. Consult your health care provider before using Lysine supplements. Foods rich in lysine include red meat, cheese, eggs, some fish (cod & sardines), soybeans, lentils, peas and beans. Those who are vegetarians or on a dairy reduced diet may need supplementation. One pill twice a day on an empty stomach is what I take daily.
. Baking Soda
If you have a sore throat, it is important that you gargle with baking soda once or twice a day. A half teaspoon in half a glass of water is sufficient to make your throat alkaline and to kill infections. Gargle for at least 30 seconds (not necessarily continuously) each time.
Baking soda can also be ingested first thing in the morning and just before bedtime. I use half a teaspoon in a glass of water. This way it is not too salty. Baking soda makes your body alkaline and helps fight infections that prefer an acidic environment and this includes cancer cells.
You can test your saliva or urine pH using pH strips available at some drugs stores. You can also order from Amazon. Recommend strips that range in pH from 4.5 to 9. Ideally your saliva and urine should be slightly alkaline (around pH 7 to 8).
